BENEFITS
Custom Metal Buildings Roof Styles
The regular roof style is popular for its rounded, barn-like look, and is also our most economical choice. A regular roof provides reliable protection from sun and rain, and its roof panels are oriented horizontally from front to back. The regular roof is a good option if you don’t need a larger building, or if you live in an area that tends not to get much in the way of snow or higher winds.
The A-frame or boxed-eave roof is more similar to the design of a typical house roof, which is a plus if you’d like your custom metal building to better blend with your home or other structures. Like a regular roof, the A-frame roof’s panels run horizontally. The A-frame roof is a stronger design than the regular roof, however, and is a preferred choice if you live in an area that may receive some heavier winds or snow.
The vertical roof is our premier choice. It’s built on an A-frame design, but it additionally includes extra reinforcement that makes it our strongest roof option. The vertical orientation of the roof panels allows rain, snow, and debris to glide off the roof more easily. The vertical roof is really the best option if you experience more extreme weather, and is the standard recommendation for any building that is 36’ long or more.
Advantages of Custom Metal Buildings
Pre-engineered steel structures and pre-engineered custom steel building kits are superior to those made with wood or other materials for a number of reasons:
- Fully Customizable – Steel’s strength allows for more adaptable structural design, and almost unlimited customization options. You can select a design for your custom building that will best meet your needs; you choose your dimensions and layout, pick your colors, and then add whatever customization options you desire. It’s that simple!
- Cost-Effective – You may be surprised to learn that it can actually be more cost-effective to build with steel than with many other construction materials, especially for large-scale building applications. And since steel is naturally fire-resistant, it’s possible to save on insurance costs, too. American Metal Structures is here to help you get more bang for your buck out of your custom steel building!
- Rugged Durability– Steel is simply the strongest, most rugged building material available for multipurpose custom buildings. It can better handle constant use and perennial weather challenges, and it doesn’t rot like wood. Steel also won’t harbor mold, mildew, or termites, and it’s incredibly resistant to other pests, too.
- Low Maintenance – Steel buildings are easier to clean than other structures, and they requires less maintenance than stick-builds or buildings made from other materials. You also won’t have to deal with the same paint peeling or fading issues that you’d face with wood.
